
This year, Apple held a packed WWDC 2023 conference, announcing many new devices and software solutions.
However, not all innovations were covered during the main presentation.
The Verge prepared a fairly extensive list of new features that were left out but still deserve attention, as they can significantly impact the work with Apple devices.
iOS 17 and iPadOS 17
- Discontinuation of support for iPhone X, 8, and 8 Plus, as well as iPad 5 and 1st generation iPad Pro.
- The ability to share tags and AirTag and Find My accessories – up to 5 people.
- Downloading content for offline use in Apple Maps.
- Improved routing for electric vehicles considering charging stations.
- App shortcuts will appear in the Top Hit card in Spotlight search.
- Visual Look Up will allow finding recipes based on food photos.
- Enhanced protection against the display of explicit content.
- Improved privacy settings when granting access to photos.
- New Memoji stickers.
- Automatically sorted grocery lists in Reminders.
- Activity history in Apple Home.
- Crosswords in the News app.
- Audio materials from Apple News Plus will be available in the Apple Podcasts app.
- Authorization using any email address or phone number listed in the Apple ID account.
- New Freeform tools, including a ruler, watercolor brush, calligraphy pen, marker, and variable-width pen.
- Transitioning between compositions in Apple Music.
- Updated Now Playing tool that hovers over the rest of the Apple Music interface.
- Shared playlists.
- Calling Siri during a call or FaceTime conversation on your phone.
- The ability to add links from one note to another.
- The ability to use multiple timers on iPhone.
- The new Listen to Page feature in Safari allows you to listen to a page.
- The ability to interrupt the virtual assistant Siri without needing to say "Siri" again.
- A new call management section in AirPods Pro settings.
- Contact pronouns.
- Automatic deletion of verification codes in Messages and Mail.
