Long forgotten times when the iPad was perceived only as a toy. Each generation of the device makes users take it more seriously.
And the latest iPad Pro with its own Apple M1 chip has evolved so much that it's not scary to take it into space.

Unboxing: packaging and first impressions

The packaging of the 5th generation iPad Pro does not differ much from the previous model. A branded box with a tab that simplifies the unboxing process.
Inside - the tablet, underneath it - a charging cable, adapter, and informational leaflets.

And here it is in hand, the new iPad Pro - wonderful from both an aesthetic and technical point of view.
Before us is an aluminum chassis with a thin display bezel, in which the developers have hidden Face ID. The tablet is very thin (even in a case) and quite light:
The 11-inch iPad Pro weighs 466 grams, while the 12.9-inch model weighs 682 grams.

What does the M1 chip onboard provide?

The performance of the iPad Pro 2021 is simply out of this world. This is exactly the case when the Pro designation truly defines the purpose of the tablet.
To be frank: if you use the tablet for reading books and watching movies, its potential will not be revealed to you.
But if you create those very movies, edit images, compile videos, and love to spend time in a gaming reality of console quality with a high frame rate,
then you won't find a cooler tablet.

The M1 makes the new iPad Pro the fastest device in the world: the 8-core CPU provides up to 50% more performance, while the 8-core GPU offers up to 40% more.

It is worth mentioning separately the Liquid Retina XDR display in the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. This is the same display that is in the Apple Pro Display XDR monitor.
Behind these terms lies the ability to showcase a vast number of shades and maximum realistic detail.
The display provides a very bright, rich picture, enhanced smoothness, and good viewing angles.

The 11-inch model also has an excellent Liquid Retina display, but with a more traditional backlighting system. As a result, black is not as contrasting and is closer to gray.

And one more impressive feature of the new iPad Pro is the Center Stage camera. The new Center Stage uses an ultra-wide camera and machine learning to follow you during a call.
In practice, it looks like an operator is filming you, constantly monitoring the scene and not following you with a stabilizer camera.
When you move, the camera automatically pans the scene to keep you centered in the frame.
By the way, this feature can be used not only with FaceTime but also with other video calling apps.

Moreover, the tablet has gained the ability to work in 5G networks, USB-C with Thunderbolt support to connect top monitors, as well as 8 and 16 GB of RAM depending on the internal storage capacity. A fairy tale!
